Clean lines, beautiful silhouettes, gorgeous fabrics and a name that is synonymous with simplicity and style, Australian label Bassike has come along way since it's beginnings in 2006.
Now stocked in over 90 domestic and international stores, including fashion e-tailer giant Net-A-Porter, as well as four stand alone stores, Bassike has grown from the go to label for perfect tee's into an incredibly successful brand offering those ever popular basics as well as standout pieces.
I picked out some of my stand out looks from their latest collection.
These two looks are so simple, yet so well executed that the simplicity fades into the background, and what you see before you are two very current but also timeless looks. And that's the thing about Bassike that I adore so much, their style is not so much trend based as wardrobe hero based. Ok they might date in twenty years, what doesn't? But invest in one if these and you'll be wearing it for seasons to come.
Show me a drop crotch that Bassike hasn't mastered. The luxe trackie is surely a goldmine, and when paired with leather takes on a whole new level of luxe. Wear the denim on denim together, or rock these staples as seperates. The top with a leather wrap mini skirt and the pants with a crisp white shirt.
And yet more classic separates, perfectly tailored blazers and slim fit trousers, pop red skinnies and an oversized coat. All of which would slot comfortably into the wardrobe of just about any women, anywhere.
For Bassike founders Deborah Sams and Mary-Lou Ryan, two Australian women with a decade plus of experience under their stylish belts, the success of their label must be such sweet recognition of what they believe: simple comfortable dressing, not over-styled or over-thought.
If this collection is anything to go by, they're definitely achieving what they believe.
